Its true in my case but the professionals still advise me that I must change, in order to cope with these A**holes- Oh and they believe the opinion of a Narcissistic parent of my earlier years ;-) I have found sites like these more supportive and beneficial than any therpay they have suggested so far. Hi Anon - As a general rule, whenever a person says WE must change (rather than the abusers) I take that to mean that we're the only ones who will stop the abuse, usually by walking away from it. There is no way to make an abuser change, or anyone else for that matter, so it's just up to us to decide when to walk away.
But cope with the assholes? Hell no. That's not an option. If you have to "cope" with anyone, it's definitely time to walk.
